Our Mission
To build a more humane and fraternal world by working in particular in the promotion and defense of human rights.
Who are we ?
A community of Church movements bringing together people who hold professional, economic, social, political, and cultural responsibilities in the world.
Together, these Christians are committed to transforming the mindsets and structures of society in accordance with the Gospel values to which they adhere.
What do we want?
MIAMSI is an international association founded in 1963 that aims for :
- Foster contacts with international bodies to promote peace, solidarity, and justice.
- Participate in building the universal Church, taking into account diverse cultures and socio-economic situations.
- Promote ecumenical and interreligious dialogue in order to work with all for the dignity of every human being and respect for the integrity of creation.
Our approach to a more humane future
Members of the MIAMSI movement gather in small teams where they share through:
- An approach : "SEE – DISCERN – ACT"
- Meditating on Scripture with a constant focus on the connection between Faith and Life
- Life review, inquiry, or the annual theme proposed by the movement
In this way, they experience an encounter with God, which the movement aims to foster.
The movement cultivates a pluralism among the teams and within society, characterized by welcoming differences and engaging in mutual individual and collective dialogue.
The international bureau
MIAMSI brings together around thirty national movements.
These movements are organized into regional branches: Africa, Latin America, Asia, and Europe, as well as Lebanon and Syria.
The international office is an offshoot of these regional branches.

- the findings of the humanities.
- the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
- the experience of believers.
- the teachings of the Gospel and the Word of the Church.
ACT: By working to change our mindsets and our culture so that, in consultation and collaboration with others, we can transform people's living conditions and the structures of society through concrete and collective actions.
Each member can participate in the events of the various relays and MIAMSI meetings.
We share our resources and expertise to transform the most complex social realities.
